IT Governance in Action: Committees and Processes

That may be, but it’s just as appropriate to say that committees are the workhorses of higher education. As we report in this chapter, they play a conspicuous role in IT governance as they do in so many other areas of institutional life. Committees are not, however, the only sort of formal structure involved in IT governance. Authorities on IT governance refer to assorted “leadership [and] organizational structures and processes,” “relational mechanisms,” or simply “mechanisms” needed to give concrete shape and operational life to IT governance precepts.1 Besides committees, these include project review processes, service 5 IT Governance in Action: Committees and Processes
